Sophia Fowkes worked as a computer programmer before, but she was fired for taking too much time off to care for her very sick child. She thought that it would be turned into a full-time business. In 1998, she started Baby-Cakes.com. After several years, her business grew and expanded in a way that even she had never expected. She sold her products online at first. Three years after her own website was created, demand for her products was so great that in August, 2001 she opened a real store. She is ready to combine the online store with the traditional store.
