can’t help后接不定式和动名词的用法区别

can’t help后既可接不定式也可接动名词，其区别是：

(1) 后接动名词表示禁不住去做某事。如：

We can’t help thinking he’s still alive. 我们总是认为他还活着。

He couldn’t help smiling at her childlike frankness. 她天真坦白的话语，让他不禁微笑了。

It was so funny that I couldn’t help laughing. 太有意思了，我忍不住笑了起来。

He could not help exclaiming at how much his son had grown. 他的儿子已长那么高了，他不禁惊叫起来。

Excuse me—I couldn’t help overhearing what you said. 对不起，我不由自主地听见你们谈的事情了。

(2) 接不定式表示不能帮助做某事。如：

I’m too busy, and I really can’t help to do it. 我很忙，我真的不能帮忙做此事。

The medicine can’t help to get rid of your cold. 这药不能帮你消除感冒。

This ointment might help to clean up your rash. 这种药膏也许能消除你的皮疹。
